What makes an enterprise a ‘social’ enterprise?
A social enterprise is a business, but one where profit is made primarily to support a social or environmental objective. Much of the profit that is made is reinvested in these aims – although social entrepreneurs do still earn a living from their business! There is no legal definition of a social enterprise as they can take many forms. Read more about social enterprise here.
